About me.

I'm Miro. A Software Engineering graduate with a 2:1 who loves getting into the gritty details of software development and web design when I can. A nice little 'proof is in the pudding' example of this could probably be when I finished my final year project for Uni. I managed to focus so much on trying to make an 'instant' browser based code refactoring tool, to the point it was actually instant. I managed to make the whole refactoring part of this code in JavaScript, and it worked really well.

Right now I'm looking for a step into the professional Software Development realm, whether that's through actual Software Development, or Web Development, my options are open. The industry itself is the main goal, and I'm excited I get to even chase it.

Thinking back to when this all started, I was a young boy who managed to figure there's a certain logic, a pattern behind the games I was playing and that this must have meant something more. I grew up on a small farm in Slovakia, and moved to the UK when I was 5. I had my first console around the age of 7, and this is where the habit just grew. Fast forward to me trying simple coding in Java, and the road simply flew from there.

There was a distinct moment in College Games Development module where I felt myself doing a full circle to my childhood. We had a challenge from my teacher to make a 2-player 2D fighting platformer like some stickmen games you might have seen before. As it turns out, I was the only one who could, and the feeling was amazing. It was then that I knew this was the thing for me.

One of the main things I enjoy about coding is the fruition from a Miro board (no pun intended) to an actual project. Not just the destination, but the journey itself. It's a combination of an idea yet to be done, and the dance of filling out pages worth of content to use, to spending maybe too much time on the details like the animations, and other things that you could take hours perfecting for only a few noticing.

Education.

BSc (Hons) Software Engineering.

University of Salford · 2020 - 2024 · 2:1

We focused on a variety of modules like Professional Development, Algorithms, Games Development, Data Structures, and many others. My final year project was a Code Refactoring Browser-Based solution, after I found there weren't many options like this out there, and I thought it would be a good enough challenge that matched my degree and desires.

IT Level 3 Extended Diploma.

Cheshire College South & West · 2018 - 2020 · DDM (Distinction, Distinction, Merit)

At college I focused on Databases, Programming and more Professional Development in preparation for my later University course.

Achievements.

Macro IT Support.

Bupa · 2026

I managed to make an impression on the Seconded Director of Sales with my background knowledge of our process, to the point where my name specifically was shared in talks amongst the leaders of the different groups we work in.

On the back of this, I spoke to my manager at the time and we put together a go-to point where my team members could come to me for a quick response regarding any IT issues they were having. Small or large issues, I tried helping as much as possible in between my own role, often times sharing tips, spreading common IT faults and downtime updates.

Local Web Development.

Local Area · 2025 - 2026

I tried to bring up my own web development solution during this period. I managed to create a website for my brother-in-law, and my uncle who has a shop in Slovakia as well.

HackCamp Prize Nomination.

University of Salford · 2024

My team and I worked with a Dutch company remotely and created an online CV library solution that was so good, the company used a lot of the code with their real contract, which was linked in with the Dutch Government. Out of the team, I was nominated for a prize giving ceremony on the back of that year's HackCamp attendees.

Certificates.

FreeCodeCamp · 2026

This was a great refresher on advanced web development theories and practices. This helped me bring more of my skills together into one.

For your speakers.

For the last section about me, I'll give you a snippet into the different playlists that I listen to, what they mean to me, and where you can find them to give them a shot too. I figured this would give you a brief insight into my life and what I enjoy in a different manner. Why not hit some more senses like the auditory one, rather than just looking at everything on this page.

Playlists.

Golden Cello - Dark Neoclassical Adagio

Coding

This one's an absolute must. Good dark and slow vibes, without Lyrics to distract my ADHD while I work.

Alone Above Chicago - Vintage Jazz

Morning Coffee

I like to mix this one in sometimes if I'm awake long before any commitments. Lovely cosy morning vibes. This one's unique cus I don't normally like Jazz, but it works very well.

Late Night Coding - Dystopian Ambience

Late Night

I'm also somewhat of a night owl. These types of playlists also hit the right spot to not distract me, and put me in a good spot for some great focus I can enjoy diving into.
